While I'm in the mood for quotes, here's a gem from Benjamin Franklin:

These statements certainly apply today. I think the authors would be a little red faced when reminded of these quotes in todays political climate.

JAMES MADISON, who I quote on the sub heading of my blog, also wrote in the Federalist paper No 47, "accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands ... may be pronounced the very definition of tyranny." It's like Americas very own nightmare coming true.And, while right wingers have on occasion called my beliefs akin to communism, I have concluded thier beliefs to be nothing less than tyrannical and Fascist. Our Founding Fathers would be ashamed...

OSAMA BIN LADEN said in his last message that his followers waged war and bankrupted the USSR. because they had to spend so much money conducting it. Then he said the same fate awaits the US.
I see where reconstruction money has went from 20 Billion last year to only 1 Billion this year, and very few projects have been completed. Guess what our government's priority is for that 1 Billion American dollars. Prisons and more prisons. It's beginning to look like he's not too far off in his prediction. Is this what Democracy is supposed to look like?

I. Lewis Libbey, the Vice president's chief of staff, testified to the Grand Jury, investigating the outing of spy Valerie Plame, that the Vice President told him to release her name to the news. He claims he told the VP that this was illegal. He then claims the next day, the VP went to the President, and got permission to expose her.
Do you remember the President, said he would fire anyone in the White House, that was connected to the outing of Plame.
